No Justice No Peace

MLK Live together as brothers or die as fools

CBS Channel 12 news showed a video of an elderly man who was ran over, car jacked, and hit with his own oxygen tank, after violence erupts after ‪#‎Ferguson‬ decision. A reporter called for help. #FERGUSON
This elderly gentleman had nothing to do with what happened to Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. Nothing will change what happened and nothing will bring him back. His death is a sad loss, like so many others who die in the streets due to violence, the wrongs and injustice of society; yet, nothing is bringing their family members back either. Their family members are not getting media attention, nor do you see Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson speaking on their behalf. What you do see and hear is a bunch of angry people, using the media and Michael Brown’s death to promote their own fears, their own injustices, their own hate, and for some, their own agendas. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “We can’t live together as brothers, we will die together as brothers”. Our children need leaders, not mobs, street violence, loiters, police brutality, gangs in the street, fascism, indifference, neglect, and abuse. Years of a dark cloud of hatred, indifference, and tolerance, has reared it’s ugly head and the world is watching to see a confirmation of another reason to dislike the America, who does not seem to be so great anymore. There are still great American people in this land and I challenge you to rise up, for your country needs you; your community needs you; your family needs you; and quiet frankly, you need the best of yourself. far too long we have settled for a life less ordinary. We have lost our way and daily, we find no joy in everyday life. We merely exist to live, and cease to truly thrive. it is only in the knowing that you deserve better, you are worthy of love, you are worthy of acceptance, you are worthy of greatness, but you will have to work for it. NO, you will have to fight for it. Because those who are used to using you as you are will not want you to change, but know in your heart, your life deserves to be a better life, and follow that path. Stay on that path and I will meet you on the other side. Connie Lee
